The LONE STAR PICKERZ BAND is celebrating another anniversary. In Spring 2010 we are 14 years old! It's a good thing that Conrad "Conny" Goeth has returned to the band and is really bonding with Steve "Jr." Cheshir on drums. We have had a great time over the years and have been lucky with hiring talented folks. People tell us they enjoy our kind of unique, familiar music. One reason is VARIETY. We try to keep our audience surprised with our playlist and never bored! We are proud to be a COUNTRY dance band that leans toward Traditional Country artists like George Strait, Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, and Dwight Yoakum .We are happy to feature several Classic Country artists such as George Jones, Bob Wills, Hank Williams, Sr., Ray Price, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard and more. You will hear Texas Music artists songs from Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Robert Earl Keen, Pat Green, Radney Foster and Jerry Jeff Walker too. We also mix in some 50’s-60’s OLDIES Rock and Roll from Ray Charles, Elvis, Roy Orbison, Everly Brothers, The Beatles and Chuck Berry. We toss in some Classic Southern Rock from Georgia Satellites, Charlie Daniels, Lynryd Sknryd and Stevie Ray Vaughn too. Blues has always been in our mix from grand artists like B. B. King, T-Bone Walker, Eric Clapton, Delbert McClinton and Robert Johnson. We focus on familiar music people can dance to and sing along with and remember. We have fun on stage and people dance, sing along and have a good time! We are getting some attention from the music business press! In MARCH 2008, the band was featured in ACTION MAGAZINE in a FULL PAGE ARTICLE...VERY KOOL!! In September 08, we were an opening band for Leon Rausch and the TEXAS PLAYBOYS! June 08, We were an opening band for Nashville recording star, David Ball. In 2007, Our four-member band was one of the opening bands for the Marshall Tucker Band and also for NINE TIME Grammy Award Winner; Asleep At The Wheel Band at the 11th Street Cowboy Bar in Bandera. In the past we have opened for such stars as Darrell McCall at Cornyval and Shake Russell~Dana Cooper Band at a FIESTA event at UT Health Science Center. The Lone Star Pickerz has for five years been a part of the Helotes CORNYVAL in the spring. We have enjoyed the pleasure of playing for many weddings and other private celebrations and Corporate events. The LSP Band can be seen regularly around Spring Branch at Texas 46 Bar & Grill. We are playing exclusively in Bandera at 11th Street Cowboy Bar in 2010. Near Boerne we're playing Mi Casa Restaurant & Cantina. Also, come hear us at Continental Club in Northeast San Antonio, or out West of S.A., hear us at the OUTBACK Beer Garden at Country Mart in D'Hanis, TX. Over in Bulverde, we play afrer the Rodeo at Tejas Rodeo once a month. In East Bexar County, look for us at TEXAS PRIDE Bar B Que too! If you are looking to book a band, we aim to please!
