Wayne-o Martin is our lead
vocalist who plays guitar and mandolin and calls COWTOWN {Ft. Worth} his hometown. Along with TEXAS RADIO HALL OF FAME member and monster picker Steven O. Sellers they started a duo called Dos Pickerz in 1996 in the San Antonio area. Soon, Steve left, Thomas Lowry, Joe Hargus and John Damaini joined Wayne and that was the start of LONE☆STAR☆PICKERZ.
Wayne still handles all bookings and promotions for the band. With over 2,000 gigz in the rear view he has had a blast! He is the owner/founder of the band.
Veteran pro drummer REUBEN PRESAS has been an educator for decades teaching music and is our fine drummer. Reuben was with the SLIM ROBERTS
band for decades and I have always enjoyed his style. He is a native San Antonian with a great work ethic and always on the money so Reuben is a great Man to lead our rhythm section.
We have a very good Steel guitar player and Lead guitarist in Jim Gardner. Jim is a Beeville, Texas native and sure adds alot to our TRADITIONAL AND CLASSIC COUNTRY sound! We feature him playing CHET ATKINS style guitar. Jim for many years played in REAL Country bands in both Abilene and Waco Texas. For decades, Jim was a corporate pilot after serving in the USAF as a pilot. Jim is now the Corporate pilot for LONE STAR PICKERZ.
It is our great fortune in 2020 to have Dallas Texas native David Russell play fiddle with LONE STAR PICKERZ! David is a native of Dallas who spent 25 years in Nashville on "the BIG STAGE", the Grand Ole Opry. David played for BOXCAR WILLIE for several years and then for years played on the OPRY for GRAND OL OPRY member STONEWALL JACKSON! David was on many recordings cut in Nashville as a studio musician, but came home to TEXAS because they just don't use much fiddle on so called "Country" recordings anymore! He missed REAL COUNTRY music.

We try to keep our audience surprised with our playlist and never bored! We are proud to be a TRADITIONAL COUNTRY dance band that covers hits made famous by artists. As a TRIO we have a wider setlist because we are not perfoming for DANCES typically. You might hear songs made famous by artists such as... KING George Strait, Don Williams, Hal Ketcham, Gene Watson, The Mavericks, Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, Joe Diffie, Mel Tillis, Brooks & Dunn, Don Gibson, Mel McDaniel, Moe Bandy, Louvin Brothers,
Charlie Pride and Dale Watson.
We are happy to feature several Classic Country artists such as George Jones, Bob Wills, Hank Williams, Sr., Ray Price, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, Johnny Bush, Johnny Rodriguez and more.
You will hear Texas Music artists songs from Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Jerry Jeff Walker, Billy Joe Shaver, Darius Rucker, Rodney Crowell, Randy Rogers, Jimmy Buffett, Guy Clark & others.
We might even also mix in some 50’s-60’s OLDIES Rock and Roll in the TRIO
We have fun on stage and people dance, sing along and have a good time! In our past, we were an opening band for Leon Rausch and the TEXAS PLAYBOYS! In June 08, we were an opening band for Nashville recording star, DAVID BALL
In 2007, Our four-member band was one of the opening bands for the MARSHALL
TUCKER Band and also for NINE TIME Grammy Award Winner; ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL
Band. In the past we have opened for such stars as Darrell McCall at Cornyval and SHAKE RUSSELL~DANA COOPER Band at a FIESTA event at UT Health Science Center. IN 2019 we had the pleasure of opening for Suzy Boggess. In 2020 we opened and closed for MOE BANDY.
. In June of 2022 it was our honor and pleasure to open and close for a musical hero GENE WATSON!
